Correspondence addressed to Mayor and Council will be published here each week.
Correspondence requiring action will be listed on Regular Council meeting agendas.
Correspondence authors are required to include their first name and last name, as well as a combination of a return civic address, an email address and a phone number in their correspondence to Council. Correspondence is published in its entirety unless the author specifically requests confidentiality.
Correspondence addressed to Mayor and Council is circulated to Mayor and Council in the week in which it is received and is forwarded to the appropriate department head if necessary.
Authors of correspondence who do not wish their name and/or contact information to be made public are requested to advise the District in writing, by phone (604-885-1986) or by FAX (604-885-7591) to the Corporate Officer at the time of submitting the correspondence. Otherwise, the correspondence will be published in its entirety.
Confidentiality does not apply for correspondence addressed to Mayor and/or Council regarding a public hearing, public meeting, development application or other public processes and statutory notices. Correspondence of this nature will be included, in its entirety, in public information packages, in correspondence published as “Council Correspondence” on the District of Sechelt website and will form part of the public record.
