On Wednesday July 5th, the District of Sechelt presented a cheque to the Directors of the Sunshine Coast Regional Economic Development Organization (SCREDO).
SCREDO is an incorporated non-profit society, formed in 2016 at the request of the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD), the Sechelt Indian Government District (SIGD), the Town of Gibsons, and the District of Sechelt. A four-year service agreement between SCREDO and the four local government funders establishes the partnership between the communities, and solidifies their commitment to working in a coordinated way on regional economic development. With funding now in place, SCREDO can begin to work towards their goals of reducing economic disparity, increasing the number of growing businesses, and increasing the number of career opportunities on the Sunshine Coast.
