First elected to Sechelt Council in 1999, I had the honour of serving as our community’s youngest Mayor from 2008 to 2011. I was elected to my fourth term as a Councillor in 2014.
A resident of Sechelt since my youth, I am a graduate of Chatelech Secondary School and hold Bachelor Degrees in History and Criminology with minors in Communications and Political Science from Simon Fraser University. I have also completed course work in the area of Sustainable Community Development.
While attending university, I worked one summer student term with the District of Sechelt at the former Inlet Avenue central office. In the late 1980’s, I returned to Sechelt to manage a small business, start my family and reconnect with the wonderful quality of life my home community offers. Since that time, I have been active with business, amateur sports and community service associations, including the Sechelt and District Chamber of Commerce and Rotary International. I now reside in the Davis Bay neighbourhood with my partner, Penny, our sons Logan and Ryan, and our four-legged family member, Felix.
I am committed to working with my Council colleagues and through regional cooperation to ensure that Sechelt has every opportunity to develop as an active, accessible and economically sustainable community that welcomes all.
