The District of Sechelt is seeking an individual to join our team as our Chief Building Official.

This position plays a key role at the District. Reporting to the Director of Planning and Development, the Chief Building Official is responsible for administering operations and budgeting in the building division, compliance with the BC Building Code, approving building permit applications and provide advice on major maintenance, repair and planning of civic buildings. The Chief Building Official will be responsible for leading a successful team with performance management and experience with work plans. Additionally, there are several interesting buildings proposed for construction in 2021; multi-family, mixed-use and complex care facilities, which will add to the intrigue and complexities of the role.
