Employment Opportunity - Wastewater Chief Operator

The District of Sechelt is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Wastewater Chief Operator. This is a Level IV Wastewater Treatment Operator under the BC EOCP, a Level III with the experience and ability to reach Level IV within one year or inter-provincial equivalent will be considered. This is a key role for the District as you will manage the overall operation of the wastewater system – collection, treatment and future reclaimed water distribution – along with the operational staff. As the Chief Operator of the Sechelt Water Resource Centre, you will be responsible for the day to day operation for wastewater treatment, ensuring the facility meets all performance requirements safely and efficiently. You will be working closely with the technical support team from the technology supplier – Veolia Water Solutions Canada to refine the treatment operations. You must have worked a minimum of two years Direct Responsible Charge at a class III or higher wastewater treatment facility; a minimum of two years staff supervisory experience, hold a valid Class 5 Drivers License (or inter-provincial equivalent); and live within 30 minutes driving time of the Sechelt Water Resource Centre. Flexibility to dispatch and respond to callouts on evenings and weekends is required.
