Sechelt, BC – With waves of international news about the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), and its declaration from the World Health Organization Wednesday as a pandemic illness, the District of Sechelt is preparing for potential impact. The District of Sechelt has announced the municipality continues to monitor the spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its potential impacts on the community and is making some operational changes to manage the situation. The District is in regular contact with Health Emergency Management BC and Vancouver Coastal Health. For now, the Municipal Hall and the Visitor Information Centre remain open.

District of Sechelt closed the municipal hall to the public today at 2:30 pm until further notice. Staff will continue to work to provide municipal services however some staff will work from home. Citizens and businesses can contact District staff by email and telephone.

District of Sechelt will be posting a Community Bulletin as news arises.
