Are You Renewing Your Property Tax Deferment? Important Information Below

B.C. municipalities will no longer be responsible for accepting deferment applications. In 2020 the Property Tax Deferment program launched a new online Property Tax Deferment application to make deferring your taxes easier – eliminating the need for paper forms and allowing you to auto renew your application directly with the Province of B.C. through eTaxBC.

How to apply or renew your existing agreement:

Go to www.gov.bc.ca/propertytaxdeferment.

ImportantDo not forget to claim your home owner grant, if eligible. Deferment does not cover utilities, refer to your tax notice and make payment to the District of Sechelt for utilities levied, example: (Garbage Utility User Fee or Sewer Residential Utility Fee).  Unpaid utilities are subject to penalty if not paid by property tax due date.

If you have questions about eTaxBC, please call eTaxBC support at 1 877 388-4440, option 1.
