Snow and icy conditions may affect curbside collection. Updates on specific areas are below. If your collection is missed you can put out double on your next regular collection day if a recovery plan is not posted below.

Reminder: Please ensure your bin is out no later than 8:00 a.m lid openings facing the street, unlocked, with at least 1 metre of space around each bin.

Dumpsters for household garbage and recycling will be available at 5920 Sechelt Inlet Road from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday if there is a route down .

Please be assured that the information being sent out by the District of Sechelt is current and correct at the time of publishing, however, this information can/will change on short notice, during the course of a collection day or after normal work hours. We are working with Waste Management to receive updates in a timelier manner, especially if the collection schedule changes during a collection, or makeup collection, day.

August 8-12, 2022: District of Sechelt

  • Staff shortage. 
  • No green bin (organics/food waste) or yard waste collection for the entire week.
  • Blue recycling bins WILL be collected as per usual. 
  • Food waste can be brought to Salish Soils for free drop off.
Please bring your bins in by 6 p.m. and ensure they are secured away from animals.

  • Waste Management (604-885-4246) has the garbage and recycling collection contract for the District of Sechelt.
  • Sechelt Landfill (604 885-6889). The Sechelt Landfill (managed by the Sunshine Coast Regional District) is located at 4901 Dusty Road off of Sechelt Inlet Road. See the SCRD website for hours, tipping fees and a list of accepted materials.
  • Gibsons Recycling (604-740-1425) accepts electronic waste and many other items including styrofoam, paint cans, fluorescent (CFL) light bulbs, book etc.
