Be Bear Aware

Posted on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 04:55 PM

We are fortunate to live so close to nature and with this comes the responsibility to keep our wildlife safe. Spring time means bears and cubs are waking up and leaving their dens. They're hungry and foraging for food. Please share this information with new neighbours and/or those new to the Sunshine Coast.

Household garbage

  • As per Bylaw No. 598, 2021, bins may only be put out on the day of collection...

  • Clear snow and debris around catch basins/storm drains
  • Report larger obstructions that would prevent water from getting to a catch basin

How to find a catch basin if it's covered in...

Future Sechelt: Our Path to 2045

Posted on Thursday, January 30, 2025 04:44 PM

The District of Sechelt is excited to begin work on a much needed refresh of the District’s Official Community Plan.

As part of the Official Community Plan (OCP) update the District of Sechelt and partners (Sunshine Coast Regional District and shíshálh Nation) are undertaking a Community Land Development Analysis (CLDA). Last year, the District was successful in securing a grant to fund the CLDA. Using this grant, we will develop the CLDA by looking at Sechelt through four lenses:
