handyDart Service Review

The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) and BC Transit have launched a review of the handyDart bus Service.
The handyDart is an accessible door-to-door shared transit service for people with permanent or temporary disabilities that prevent them from using fixed route transit without assistance from another person.
Please share your important feedback and insight of this system. Your voice helps shape the future of handyDart services in Sechelt.

Downtown Gas Main Installations

For the month of November, Fortis BC will be installing gas main lines in areas of downtown Sechelt. Please note: schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather, etc. Work will not take place on Sundays.
Oct 25 - Nov 1: Mermaid Street
Nov 2 - 6: Ocean Avenue
Nov 7 - 14: Cowrie/Shorncliffe
Nov 4, 18, 25: Barnacle Street (rock blasting)

Sechelt Community Safety Watch Begins Monitoring This Week

In the event of an emergency, please call 911. For concerns of illegal activity or a concern that requires police service, please contact the Sunshine Coast RCMP non-emergency line at 604-885-2266, or use their online reporting tool.
Areas of Sechelt will begin receiving additional safety monitoring beginning this week. Sechelt Council endorsed the Community Watch pilot program after hearing concerns about community safety, particularly in the downtown core.

Sechelt Mayor John Henderson will lead a group of elected officials to the Legislature in Victoria during the week of October 23rd to meet with Provincial government ministers regarding actions that are needed urgently.
