Arts, Culture & Heritage in Sechelt

The District of Sechelt takes pride in supporting a vibrant arts and culture community.  Our Public Art Collection contains works dating back to 1902 and is on display year-round. The annual Sechelt Arts Festival supports both local and off-Coast artists and performers working in all genres, and the annual Sechelt Summer Music Series offers free concerts featuring local musicians. History of Sechelt can be found at the tems swiya Museum, the Sechelt Community Archives, and at the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives.

Festival and Event Strategy

In 2018, Council adopted a draft Festival and Event Strategy to guide municipal decision-making and planning for festivals and events in our community. Click here to download a PDF copy of the Strategy.

Sunshine Coast Regional Cultural Strategy

In 2007 the Coast-wide Sunshine Coast Regional Cultural Strategy was developed by a group of dedicated community members in partnership with local government and with funding provided by 2010 Legacies Now and the federal government.
