Volunteer Program Information

The District of Sechelt wants to keep the community beautiful, and you can help by joining our program.

The Volunteer Program is a stewardship program that allows participants to take an active role in keeping their community clean and safe.   The Volunteer Program is simple.  Participants take care of an approved location, assisting Sechelt Parks with maintenance projects.   These projects could include picking up garbage, watering, weeding, mowing and removal of invasive species (blackberry, broom etc.).   Sechelt Parks provides safety information, supplies, debris removal, and recognition signs for the volunteers.

Thank you to the individuals, families, schools, churches, service clubs, special interest groups, and local businesses who have been and currently are a part of the Volunteer Program and help keep our streets, parks and park trails clean.

Your efforts are appreciated.

If you are interested in participating in the Volunteer Program, please email the Parks Manager or call 604-885-1986

The rock wall behind the Sechelt Aquatic Center was planted by the Sechelt Garden Club. With assistance from Sechelt Parks and Aquatic Center staff, over a dozen members of the Garden Club planted hundreds of donated rockery plants. Best seen from the ‘Hot Tub’ inside the Aquatic Center, this project is part of continuing efforts to beautify our downtown area.
