Omicron AEC Ltd. has applied on behalf of TELUS Communications Inc. for the redevelopment of an industrial site in East Porpoise Bay at 5981 Sechelt Inlet Road. The proposal includes the construction of a restaurant and community gathering/event space, tourist accommodation, floating dock marina and marine maintenance shop. The redevelopment of the site will include the restoration of the foreshore, continuation of the public waterfront path along Saltgrass Park, an extensive integrated landscape and tree management plan to retain mature growth trees and enhance the site with new plantings, access drive to a renovated private boat launch, parking and drop-off areas for pedestrians. Subdivisions

Homei Sechelt (Laurel) Limited Partnership has revised the original Van Ke subdivision application from 66 lots to 99 lots. The lot layout and road network have been revised along with the increase in proposed lots. The application still proposes an extension to the sanitary sewer line from Sechelt along the highway and up Nestman Road to serve the property. The owner has petitioned Council to create a new sewer service area for the property and future lot owners. Council has endorsed this petition and staff will be preparing the necessary bylaws. Temporary Use Permits

The Rogue Arts Festival has applied for a Temporary Use Permit (TUP) to continue the annual Rogue Arts Festival at Clarke Farms on Tyson Road. The TUP would allow the festival to be held in August for the next three years with an additional three years subject to permit renewal.
