Community Safety
The social issues in our community are complex and affected by many factors. The District continues to work with and advocate to the provincial and federal governments for their commitment and support in the areas that fall under their jurisdiction. This includes social and affordable housing, primary care and support services for mental health and substance use issues.
Collaboration and partnership are essential to building a safe and secure community. It is not enough to rely only on the RCMP and the District of Sechelt. Instead, safe communities must involve participation from local organizations and individuals.
