Pay your property taxes online or by phone, just like any other bill. To ensure a smooth transaction, follow these steps:

Paying by mail |
We accept property tax cheques post-dated. Make your cheque payable to the District of Sechelt and mail it, along with the remittance stub. Please allow suitable mailing time. Payments will be on time if postdated on or before the due date. Mail delayed by Canada Post will be considered late and subject to penalty. |
Paying at the Municipal Hall |
We accept Cheque, Cash, or Debit. |
Mortgage |
It is the responsibility of both you and your mortgage provider to ensure that your property taxes are fully paid to the District. This includes any portion covered by the Provincial Home Owner Grant, if eligible.

Pre-Authorized Prepayment Plan |
Taxpayers are responsible for determining their fixed monthly prepayment amount, which will be automatically deducted from their bank account on the first business day of each month for a 10-month period, from August to May.

Water utility fee |
The Sunshine Coast Regional District is responsible for the water service in the District of Sechelt. For more information please contact them directly, online or by phone at 604-885-6800. Any water user fee unpaid by December 31st of any year it is due shall be deemed taxes in arrears on the land or real property on which the fee is imposed. Once added to taxes these accounts accrue interest at a rate set quarterly by the Province. |
