Water Regulations
The water supply system in the District of Sechelt is provided by the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD). Sprinkling and water regulations are set by the SCRD and are available on their website.
The Sunshine Coast will move to different water restriction stages depending on water supply levels. Learn more about water conservation.

Non-Potable Water Station
When we reach stage 2 water restrictions, the District of Sechelt may open the non-potable water station to the public. The station is located at the Water Resource Centre at 5678 Surf Circle. This ground water has been tested by Caro Analytical Services and inspected by Vancouver Coastal Health. The water meets the BC Approved Water Quality Guidelines for agricultural use. This means:
- The water is available 24/7
- This water is safe to use on vegetables, trees, shrubs, flowers, and grasses
- In all situations, edibles grown in a garden should be washed before eating
- This water is not disinfected therefore is not potable and not for human consumption
In addition, when using the Ebbtide non-potable water station, please keep in mind:
- This water is not for commercial use
- There is a limit of 100 gallon per day per household

Licensing for groundwater use under the Water Sustainability Act has been submitted and the use is permitted while the permit is being processed.
