Be Bear Aware
We are fortunate to live so close to nature and with this comes the responsibility to keep our wildlife safe. Spring time means bears and cubs are waking up and leaving their dens. They're hungry and foraging for food. Please share this information with new neighbours and/or those new to the Sunshine Coast.
Household garbage
- All bins (black, blue and green) must be stored indoors, inside a shed, garage or enclosure.
- As per Bylaw No. 598, 2021, bins may only be put out on the day of collection between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
- Sorting your waste to ensure recycling is clean and organics are disposed of weekly goes a long way.
Fruit Trees & bushes
- Harvest vegetable gardens and fruit trees as they ripen
- Do not let fruit gather on the ground
