Nerves Rattled, Infrastructure OK After Earthquake
Initial inspections of Sechelt’s infrastructure appears to be unscathed after this afternoon’s earthquake.
Over the coming weeks, District staff will continue to check on infrastructure throughout the community. Residents are asked to:
- Remain diligent as there may be aftershocks
- Report damages to structure or buildings to owners
- Check in on friends and neighbours, particularly those who are elderly or alone.
Aftershocks may be experienced in the days following an earthquake. If shaking occurs, drop, cover and hold on, keeping away from windows.
