Condolences to Tumbler Ridge

On behalf of Mayor and Council and the residents of the District of Sechelt, we extend our deepest condolences to Mayor Krakowka, Council, staff and entire community of Tumbler Ridge in the wake of this devastating tragedy.

We are profoundly saddened by the loss of life and the suffering experienced by your community. At a time like this, words feel inadequate, but please know that our thoughts are with the families, school, first responders and everyone grieving alongside them.

While we are far in distance, we are close in heart right now and are deeply saddened by the loss your residents are facing. Municipal communities share a deep sense of responsibility for the well‑being of the people we serve, and we recognize the immense impact an event of this magnitude has on a community’s sense of safety, connection and resilience. We admire the strength and compassion your community has already shown in supporting one another.
