General local elections are held every four years in BC. The most recent election was held on October 15, 2022.

The next municipal election is October 17, 2026

In Sechelt, eligible voters elect:

  • One Mayor
  • Six Councillors
  • Three Trustees to the Board of Education for School District 46

Tues Sept 1 - Candidate Nomination period opens at 9 am
Tues Sept 8 - Mail Ballots request form available
Fri Sept 11 - Candidate Nomination period closes at 4 pm
Wed Oct 7 - Advanced voting opportunity, 8 am to 8pm, Sechelt Municipal Hall
Wed Oct 14 - Advanced voting opportunity, 8 am to 8pm, Sechelt Municipal Hall
Sat Oct 17 - General Voting Day, 8 am to 8pm, Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre, West Sechelt Elementary, Davis Bay Elementary
