Statement re Community Safety Coordinator

We can confirm that the Community Safety Coordinator has resigned from the position. While his time with the District was brief, he expressed appreciation for the warm welcome he received from staff and the time and effort invested in helping him onboard and become familiar with the organization and community.

During his introduction to the role, he observed the strong relationships that Council, senior management, community partners and residents have built over the past few years. After careful reflection, he felt that the community’s established connections with District leadership would continue to serve residents well and believed it was important to make this decision early so that the District could move forward in recruiting a candidate whose experience and approach align more closely with the ongoing needs of the role.

This change does not alter the District’s ongoing commitment to community safety and well-being. We will continue to collaborate with community partners and respond to resident concerns as part of our ongoing efforts to support a safe and vibrant community. We remain committed to advancing community safety initiatives and will revisit the scope of the role before moving forward to posting for a new Community Safety Coordinator. Service to the community remains our number one priority.
