    At their meeting on Wednesday June 17, Council received and reviewed the District’s 2025 Annual Report.

    Following a two-week period for public review and input, the published report highlights the District of Sechelt’s actions and accomplishments in advancing Council and corporate strategic goals throughout 2025. The added financial statements reflect the highest standards of government accountability.

  • Property Tax Update

    Property Tax Notices have been mailed.

    If you have not received your notice, please contact us via email or this email, or phone (604) 885-1986.

    The District has identified that some tax notices may not have been printed and mailed as intended. Staff are currently working to identify affected property owners and will ensure notices are issued as soon as possible.

    We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding.

    Reminder: Payment is due July 2nd 2026.

  • Opportunity: Accessibility Working Group

    Members needed!

    The Sechelt Accessibility Working Group helps make the community more accessible for everyone. 

    Group members provide recommendations and advice to District staff, helping to shape decisions, day-to-day operations and community improvement projects.

  • Opportunity: OCP Touch Point Committee

    We are developing an Official Community Plan. As part of the process, a committee forms to look over the draft plans to ensure we're heading in the right direction.

  • Community Safety Group Update

    Highlights from the March meeting of the Community Wellness and Safety Technical Working Group include:

    Terms of Reference
    The main change was to ensure meetings more casual (rather than procedural like a council meeting) atmosphere that flows well, not losing accountability or responsibility.

    Community Safety Coordinator position

    Review the job description, ensure actioning community safety items even though the position is part time.

  • Council Bylaw Amendments

    The District of Sechelt is considering amending its Council Procedure Bylaw. The proposed amendment was given three readings by Council on April 1, 2026, and will be considered for adoption at the May 6, 2026, Regular Council Meeting.

    Learn about Sechelt's next Official Community Plan and provide your thoughts on the top priorities that guide the plan. For example, what should be the most important priority guiding the OCP? Housing, transportation, environment.
