Downtown Wildfires
Two wildfires located downtown in the past week have raised concerns about safety for homes and people. The District of Sechelt is working closely with Sechelt Fire Department, RCMP and other organizations to reduce risks of fire.

Campfire Ban in EffectA full CAMPFIRE BAN is in effect. This includes:
- camp fires
- beach fires above AND below the tide line
- chimineas
- fires on public AND private land
- fireworks
- backyard fires, etc.

Stage 2 Water Restrictions in EffectStage 2 moderate water restrictions are in effect.
Regulations are in place to promote water conservation and ensure water supply and treatment systems can meet the large seasonal increase in outdoor water use during the summer.
