Tax SaleAs of Monday, September 29, there are no longer any properties subject to tax sale in the District of Sechelt.
What is a tax sale?
As per the Local Government Act, the District auctions properties with three years of outstanding taxes to the highest bidder at a Tax Sale.
Budget 2026 - Survey is Live!It's budget time and the District of Sechelt is currently planning projects and services for 2026. With the threat of losing twenty daycare spaces for children aged 0-3 years, the District of Sechelt and Town of Gibsons are advocating to all levels of government to take immediate action to address the growing crisis in early childhood education across rural and coastal communities.
The recent announcement of the closure of infant-toddler programs at both the West Sechelt and Gibsons YMCA facilities has left families scrambling.
Mission House Closure: SeptemberMission House is getting a refresh!
As of September 1, 2025, Mission House will be closed for approximately one month while it undergoes maintenance. The rental space and grounds will get new:
- septic system
- patio
- flooring
- interior paint
