Garbage and Recycling
Recycle BC has recently changed how shredded paper is accepted. If you are recycling shredded office paper, you must place the waste in a paper bag or cardboard box. Thank you for your cooperation.
Waste Collection
The District of Sechelt supplies every home with an organics bin, blue bin and garbage bin.
Cancelled Collection Days
Although it's rare, sometimes collection days are cancelled due to weather events, staffing shortages or mechanical issues. If the collection day in your zone is cancelled, please check our news page to find out about a pick up recovery plan for your zone.
We do our best to notify about cancellations immediately. We will send out notifications and reminders via the Sechelt Citizen App, post to the news page of our website and to our social media channels (Facebook and Instagram). Please check one of these areas to find out about a pick up recovery plan. Subscribe to our news and receive an email every time we post. When in doubt, chat with a neighbour or give us a call on your missed collection day.
