The Sunshine Coast RCMP continued to focus on community safety and proactive policing throughout the quarter, conducting approximately 325 proactive patrols across the Sunshine Coast. These efforts included patrols in areas identified as higher risk, as well as foot, bicycle, and marine patrols aimed at increasing officer visibility and community engagement.

The RCMP reported a decrease in violent crime across the Sunshine Coast during this period, while property crime levels remained generally stable. In Sechelt specifically, both violent crime and property crime decreased compared to the previous quarter.

The detachment also noted a decline in mental health-related calls for service this quarter.

In addition, the Sunshine Coast RCMP continues to participate in the Province's Community Public Safety Initiative (C-POII), which focuses on addressing issues related to chronic repeat offenders and enhancing public safety outcomes.

The detachment welcomed two new officers this quarter and remains committed to maintaining a visible presence in the community through proactive policing strategies and engagement efforts that support ongoing reductions in crime.
