Bear-resistant green organics bins are available for residents in the District of Sechelt.
The bins have lids that remain locked until lifted upside down by the waste collection truck.

Wanted: Volunteers for Advisory Planning CommissionThe District of Sechelt has vacancies on the Advisory Planning Commission (APC) for a two-year term from early 2026 to December 2027.
The APC makes recommendations to Council on maters respecting land use, community planning, and proposed amendments and initiatives related to the Official Community Plan and Zoning Bylaw.
