Sechelt solid waste collection
All garbage materials must be completely contained in garbage bags, no loose garbage, loose tissues, or personnel hygiene products will be picked up.

Recycling
Recycling is picked up bi-weekly on Mondays. Please use the collections waste wizard below to view the schedule in your area. For a list of what can go in your blue recycling bin look it up in the waste wizard below or go to the recycle bc website for general recycling information.
No glass in any curb side blue box recycling in Sechelt –all glass must go to depots either Salish Soils or Gibsons recycling depot.
Please do not use plastic bags for the over flow of recycling.
These will damage the machinery in the recycling trucks. Over flow items can be put out in cardboard boxes, tote bins that are easy for the drivers to dump into the truck, or bundled with non-plastic twine
Extra recycling can be put out with your bin in a second clean bin or a cardboard box.

Garbage
Garbage is picked up weekly on either Tuesdays or Fridays depending on your neighborhood. Put your bin out before 8 am. See the schedule below for additional information.
- Garbage is limited to one standard (80l) garbage bin per household, no heavier than 20kgs (44lbs)
- Extra cans / bags will require garbage tags - purchased from the municipal office for $4.00 each
- Make sure the tag is easily visible on the bag or can

Note: there is no waste pick up on Christmas day but all other holidays continue with the usual schedule.
