The District of Sechelt supports a multidisciplinary approach to public safety and coordinates with appropriate levels of government to prepare for and respond to emergencies.

This is a group of community partners including the RCMP, VCH, BC Housing, the District of Sechelt and other community members. The group generally meets monthly to discuss any concerns and put items into action. Meeting Highlights 2026 |
| Sechelt Citizens on Patrol |
| This is a volunteer-led community organization dedicated to enhancing safety and preventing crime in Sechelt. They are aways looking for volunteers. Connect with them through their website here. |
| Community Watch Pilot Project |
|
The Community Watch Team pilot project patrols downtown Sechelt, Davis Bay and surrounding areas, as well as District of Sechelt facilities, parks and washrooms, seven nights a week. The contracted security firm specializes in de-escalation techniques and has specific check in points throughout the community. |

If you spot a wildfire, please call 1 800 663 5555 or *5555 on a cellphone. Residents should protect their homes and be fire smart. A FireSmartBC grant is a available for you to request a FREE FireSmart assessment of your home or property to help reduce fire risks. |
