Snow clearing in Sechelt

Snow...it may be on the way. We didn't ask for it and maybe we don't really want it, but there's no stopping Mother Nature. Fortunately our Parks and Public Works teams are amazing.

Reminder: We clear snow in a prioritized system:

- Major arterial streets such as Norwest Bay Rd and Trail Ave, school bus and transit routes, access routes to emergency services buildings, routes leading to Sandy Hook/Tuwanek and the Davis Bay areas.

- Collector streets such as Ballie and Dolphin, big hills and commercial areas.

- Local residential streets and other areas where needed.

Not plowed: gravel roads.

Highway 101 is not plowed by Sechelt, it is the responsbility of Capilano Highways: Email: info@capilanohighways.ca

In the event of an ongoing snowfall, it may take longer for plows to reach local streets as first and second priority streets will require ongoing and repeated attention.

While our teams don't have unlimited personnel or snow removal equipment, they work around the clock using the resources they do have to help make your walk or drive a little bit safer.

Sidewalks Reminder: It is the responsibility of the homeowner/business owner to clear snow and or ice off the home or building's adjacent sidewalks.
