Calling all businesses and groups! It's time to register your float for the syiyaya Days/Canada Day Parade on July 1. It's one of Sechelt's biggest events and SO much fun. Don't miss out! Register for Parade Let's see if we can make it bigger than last year's parade!
Stage 1 Water Restrictions in Effect

Sechelt is now on Stage 1 water restrictions. Each year, the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) enacts Stage 1 automatically on May 1st to promote water conservation and ensure water supply and treatment systems can meet the large seasonal increase in outdoor water use during the summer.
Treated water is expensive and precious. Rethinking how we use treated water will help everyone in the long run.
EVEN numbered addresses = Tu/Thur/Sun
ODD numbered addresses = Mon/Wed/Sat

We are developing an Official Community Plan. As part of the process, a committee forms to look over the draft plans to ensure we're heading in the right direction.
The Touch Point Committee is a short-term advisory group that provides informed advice to the District with regards to the Official Community Plan (OCP).

Highlights from the March meeting of the Community Wellness and Safety Technical Working Group include:
Terms of Reference
The main change was to ensure meetings more casual (rather than procedural like a council meeting) atmosphere that flows well, not losing accountability or responsibility.
Community Safety Coordinator position
Review the job description, ensure actioning community safety items even though the position is part time. Role to include development of a workplan.
