Campfire Ban in Effect!

Effective as of noon Thursday, June 8, 2023 and until further notice, a full CAMPFIRE BAN is in effect. This includes:
- camp fires
- chimineas
- beach fires above AND below the tide line
- fireworks
- backyard fires, etc.
Propane and briquette fueled BBQ's are allowed as are propane fired campfire rings with a flame height of 6 inches (15 centimeters) or less.

Construction Begins on Active Transportation Route
Just in time for GoByBike week, MLA Nicholas Simons, Mayor Henderson and students from West Sechelt Elementary dug golden shovels into the ground to kick off construction of Sechelt’s newest active transportation route and expansion. Local Organizations Receive Funding

Four community organizations have received some much-needed funding thanks to the District's Community Investment Program. Mayor Henderson and Councillor Bell presented cheques to the following groups:
- $500 - Sunshine Coast Community Orchestra Association
- $5000 - Sunshine Coast Hospice Society
- $10,000 - Arrowhead Clubhouse
- $10,500 - Restorative Justice Program of the Sunshine Coast
